===== Pentax Super-Takumar 24mm f/3.5 ===== (INSERT SINGLE HERO IMAGE HERE - other images below in media section) ==== Summary ==== The S-M-C/Super Takumar 24mm f/3.5 is a classic wide-angle prime lens for M42 screw-mount cameras, produced by Asahi Optical Co. in two versions: the Super-Takumar (1967–1971) and the Super-Multi-Coated (S-M-C) Takumar (1972–1976). Both share the same 9-element/8-group optical design and a 5-blade automatic diaphragm, with the S-M-C version adding improved multi-coating for better flare resistance and open-aperture metering on select Spotmatic bodies. With an 84° diagonal field of view on full-frame and a minimum focus distance of 0.25m, it’s ideal for landscapes, architecture, and environmental scenes. The lens uses a 58mm filter thread, weighs around 243–247g, and measures 63 × 46.5–51mm, depending on the version. It includes a square clip-on hood and was originally supplied with a metal cap and case. Engraved as either Super-Takumar 1:3.5/24 or Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:3.5/24, it delivers excellent center sharpness, classic Takumar color rendering, and a slightly soft edge performance wide open—improving significantly by f/5.6 to f/11. Though not as fast as modern wide-angles, it remains a cult favorite for its build quality, compact size, and vintage character—especially when adapted to digital mirrorless systems. ==== Tech Specs ==== | Manufacturer |Pentax| | Series |M42 Series| | Model |Super-Takumar| | Focal Length |24mm| | Max Aperture |f/4.5| | Min Aperture |f/16| | Format |Full-Frame| | Image Circle |⌀| | Minimum Focus |25cm| | Focus Rotation |°| | Iris Blades |5| | Optical Design |9/8| | Squeeze |none| | Front Diameter |63mm| | Filter Thread |58mm| | Focus/Zoom Rod |none| | Native Mount |M42| | Data Protocol |none| | Length |51mm| | Weight |247g| | Body Telescope |-| | Body Material |-| | Focus Drive |-| | Iris Drive |-| | Zoom Drive |-| ==== History ==== Country of Origin: - \\ Release Date: 1967 \\ Launch Price: - \\ Design Revisions:\\ ==== Service ==== Service Manual: (Insert link to manual here) \\ \\ Full CLA: **#hrs.**\\ Enter relevant notes here\\ ==== Cine-Mod ==== Focus Ring O.D.: -\\ Zoom Ring O.D.: -\\ Iris Ring O.D.: -\\ De-click Y/N: -\\ Additional Notes: \\ ==== Notes ==== ==== Media ====
