===== Pentax 67 SMC Takumar 55mm f/4 Ver 1 ===== {{ :lens:pentax55mm6x7f4.png?300|}} ==== Summary ==== The SMC Pentax-6×7 55mm f/4 is a wide-angle prime introduced in 1979 for the Pentax 6×7 medium format system, offering a field of view equivalent to a 28mm lens on 35mm film. It replaced the earlier, heavier 55mm f/3.5 Takumar and was later succeeded by the optically refined SMC Pentax 67 55mm f/4 in 1986. This version is often referred to as the “second-generation” 55/4, and it strikes a balance between performance, size, and usability. The lens features a 9-element - 8-group optical design with Super Multi-Coating (SMC) and an 8-blade automatic diaphragm. It stops down to f/22, focuses as close as 40cm, and delivers 0.2× magnification—making it surprisingly capable for close-up work. It uses a 77mm filter thread, weighs 615g, and measures 91.5 × 75.5mm. It lacks internal focusing and weather sealing, but includes a manual aperture ring (no “A” setting), and supports both screw-in and bayonet filters. A dedicated PH-SA hood and S90-100 case were standard accessories.\\ \\ Came in two variants with **different** specs.
