===== Pentax 67 SMC Takumar 90mm f/2.8 Leaf Shutter ===== {{ :lens:pentax90mm6x7f2.8ls.png?250|}} ==== Summary ==== The SMC Takumar 6×7 90mm f/2.8 Leaf Shutter (LS) is a unique normal prime introduced in 1971 for the Pentax 6×7 medium format system. It was the first lens in the lineup to feature a built-in leaf shutter, enabling high-speed flash synchronization up to 1/500 sec—a major advantage for studio and outdoor fill-flash work. This lens was produced until 1980, when it was replaced by a non-leaf-shutter version. Optically, it uses a 6-element - 5-group design with Super-Multi-Coating (SMC) and a 5-blade automatic diaphragm. It stops down to f/22, focuses as close as 85cm, and delivers 0.14× magnification. It uses a 67mm filter thread (screw-in or bayonet), weighs 610g, and measures 91.5 × 63mm. The lens includes a U/S lever to toggle between “Usual” and “Special” modes, a shutter speed ring (1/30 to 1/500 sec), a flash sync terminal, and a cable release socket for triggering the leaf shutter independently. It ships with a metal bayonet cap, and was often paired with a dedicated close-up filter (S82) for improved near-focus performance. ==== Tech Specs ==== | Manufacturer |Pentax| | Series |67| | Model |SMC Takumar| | Focal Length |90mm| | Max Aperture |f/2.8 LS| | Min Aperture |f/22| | Format |6x7| | Image Circle |-| | Minimum Focus |85cm| | Focus Rotation |°| | Iris Blades |5| | Optical Design |6/5| | Squeeze |none| | Front Diameter |91.5mm| | Filter Thread |67mm| | Focus/Zoom Rod |none| | Native Mount |Pentax 6x7| | Data Protocol |none| | Length |63mm| | Weight |610g| | Body Telescope |-| | Body Material |-| | Focus Drive |-| | Iris Drive |-| | Zoom Drive |-| ==== History ==== Country of Origin: \\ Release Date: 1971 \\ Launch Price: \\ Design Revisions: \\ ==== Service ==== Service Manual: (Insert link to manual here) \\ \\ Full CLA: **TBD hrs.**\\ \\ ==== Cine-Mod ==== Focus Ring O.D.: -\\ Zoom Ring O.D.: -\\ Iris Ring O.D.: -\\ De-click Y/N: -\\ Additional Notes: \\ ==== Notes ==== ==== Media ====
