It was the fastest 200mm lens Pentax ever made, offering a unique blend of speed, build quality, and optical character that still draws attention from collectors and vintage lens enthusiasts. It features a 6-element/6-group optical design, an 8-blade automatic diaphragm, and Super Multi-Coating (SMC) for improved contrast and flare resistance. With a fixed f/2.5 aperture, it delivers a 12° diagonal field of view on full-frame (or ~8° on APS-C), focuses down to 2 meters, and offers 0.13× magnification. The lens uses a 77mm filter thread, weighs 950g, and measures 89 × 145mm. It includes a built-in sliding hood, clip-on front cap, and was originally sold with a dedicated hard case.
